Mozzart Bet’s support to sports in Kenya

The power of sports in shaping communities especially the youth is underrated but at Mozzart Bet we know this too well. Our support for sports is spread across grassroots and National activities.

MOZZART BET CUP

The oldest inter-club football competition in the country, FKF-Cup, got a shot in the arm in the year 2023 following the announcement of a three-year Sh 60 million sponsorship deal from Mozzart Bet Kenya. Football Kenya Federation signed the deal that caters for organization, live-streaming, branding and logistics of running the 67-year-old competition. Annually, Sh 20 million will be set aside for this tournament. The Cup will now be officially known as the Mozzart Bet Cup and will feature 32 teams after the Preliminary rounds.

K’Ogalo is so far the team with the most titles in this competition standing at eight followed by rivals AFC Leopards SC at seven. The prize winner of the 2023 competition will take home Sh 2 million with the runners-up on Shs 1 million.

During a media presentation of the contractual arrangement between the two parties at Westlands  Golden Tulip Hotel, FKF Vice-President Doris  Petra lauded the new dawn as a welcome move for the development of football. “We want to appreciate our new partners because they believed in us even when things were challenging. We both believe in the joint development of football in the country and so with Mozzart on board, we believe that our youth will be successful. I want to appreciate all partners who will help us grow football at the grass roots through this venture. We are coming from a time where only adhering partners could work with us but now we are happy to find a committed sponsor joining us,” she stated.

Mozzart Bet Kenya Country Manager Sasa Krneta on his part has lauded the FKF for its vision for football and that it made sense to come on board through the FKF Cup. “We are here to show support to a great cause that will grow football in Kenya. This Cup we are sponsoring is coveted by most teams and therefore very popular.

As a Brand, we are proud to be associated with such initiatives and over the next three years, we want to see football at the base grow. There is a need to see the development of football back on the agenda especially since Kenya has been readmitted by FIFA.

This competition is important because the winners will be the Country’s Representatives in the CAF Confederations Cup.”

On his part, FKF CEO Barry Otieno heaved a sigh of relief after what has been a difficult period for the Federation that was initially suspended in November 2021.

“We have undergone a trying phase as football stakeholders and so with this new deal, it feels really good to be back. 

KAKAMEGA HOMEBOYZ

Mozzart Bet have sponsored the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKF-PL) side for three consecutive seasons to the tune of Ksh 20 million per year.

This sponsorship has changed the fortunes of the club and it came close to winning the league title, only losing it at the tail end of the campaign to Tusker FC in the 2021/2022 season.

In the Football Season 2022/2023, Kakamega Homeboyz FC made history by lifting the inaugural Mozzart Bet Cup, their maiden national Domestic Title, and getting a chance to represent Kenya in the continental CAF Confederation Cup.

MALKIA STRIKERS – WOMEN VOLLEYBALL NATIONAL TEAM

The Kenya women National volleyball team is the best in Africa. They have the potential to be among the best in the world and it is with this in mind that Mozzart chose to sponsor Malkia Strikers. World Championship. The current partnership with the Kenya Volleyball Federation runs up to December 2024.

The package included training camps in Brazil and in Belgrade, Serbia where they trained and played build up matches against leading sides.

In the year 2023, the Malkia Strikers regained their dominance in African Volleyball by beating Cameroon in the finals of the CAVB African Championships to win the 10^th African Title, gaining National & International media recognition.

With each passing year, this prestigious half marathon has grown in scale and significance. The bonanza that has electrified the athletics-rich Baringo County is regarded as one of the biggest half marathons in the country.

It happens annually with the starting line set at Benonin, Eldama Ravine in Baringo County.

10KM Re-Discover Nandi Road Race

Mozzart has also sponsored two consecutive editions of the Nandi Road Race to the tune of Ksh 3 million each. The theme of the race has always been to protect the water-catchment areas in the region and improve the forest cover and this marries well with our commitment to improving the well-being of Kenyan communities.
